Madeleine completed a Doctorate of (Clinical) Psychology with a child, adolescent and family psychology specialisation at Monash University, following her undergraduate studies at the University of Melbourne. She has been fully registered as a Clinical Psychologist since 2009. She has several years of experience working at the NGO Foundation House, assisting children, young people and families with a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties, and in her additional role as a Research Fellow she conducted research with young people who have been refugees about their experiences of mental health services. Madeleine has a long-standing involvement in psychological research with a focus on projects that aim to give a voice to young people. She has also worked as a Clinical Psychologist for a school-based service, providing psychological services for children, parents and teachers. Since finishing her own university training, Madeleine has returned to tutor and lecture undergraduate and postgraduate students. In her work as a psychologist with individuals, families and groups, Madeleine aims to develop an understanding of each individual in their context, and to bring qualities such as kindness and trustworthiness together with professional knowledge in order to be of assistance to clients.
