Overview

Dr. Lidia Lae is the principal psychologist of To Learn Consulting, a boutique psychological consultancy based in Kew. She holds a PhD in Psychology, a Master’s degree in Educational and Developmental Psychology, and teaching qualifications. Lidia is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the American Psychological Association (APA). She has extensive expertise in assessing and treating individuals with special needs, including Intellectual Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, socio-emotional and behavioural issues, learning difficulties, and giftedness. Before founding To Learn Consulting, Lidia built her experience through roles with the Department of Education, Total Wellbeing Medical & Counselling Centre, Knox Community Care, Lewis & Lewis Psychological Consultancy Services, OnPsych and Assessments Australia. She also served as an examiner for the Pearson Standardisation Project for the WISC and is currently contributing to the standardisation of the WAIS. With over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults, Lidia has supported individuals facing a wide range of psychological challenges, including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, behavioural issues, stress, and adjustment challenges. She adopts a holistic and eclectic approach to therapy, integrating techniques from cognitive-behavioural therapy, interpersonal therapy, assertiveness training, family therapy, art therapy, psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness practices, and solution-focused brief therapy.
