I enjoy the opportunity to contribute the community professionally and personally.
I have conducted research involving a variety of methodologies to investigate genetic influences on behaviour, specifically attention and activity, in addition to substance use. In addition to a gentic/biological perspective, I examine how behaviour can be influenced by culture, values and Interactional patterns - taking a biopsychosocial perspective.
The feature common to each of the professional roles I have held most important to me, has been to contribute to understanding, individually or collectively of how to best support growth and wellbeing. I have worked to effect change in peoples lives using validated intervention methods, respect and consideration to support autonomy, movement toward goals, to build flexibility and interdependency.
