Dr Huzan Daver (BA (Psychology), MSW and PhD)
Huzan has over 30 years of extensive experience and continuous training as a counsellor. She is a highly regarded therapist and has professional membership with the AASW. Huzan has worked in a range of diverse settings, is culturally sensitive, and respectful to all. She specialises in adults and adolescents but has also worked with children in family therapy.
Huzan’s approach is intuitive, dynamic and pragmatic. She is passionate about helping people and inspires and motivates others to develop and grow. Huzan explores areas of client concerns or issues and creates lucrative conditions for their transformation. She is committed to develop effective strategies to help her client’s individual needs. As an educator for counsellors at tertiary level, she has a wealth of experience and training in the latest post-modern therapies.
Huzan has an integrated approach drawing from a range of therapies including, Existential Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural therapy, Rational Emotive Behaviour therapy, Gestalt therapy, Person-centred, Narrative therapy, Acceptance therapy, Solution-focused, Strength based therapy, Mindfulness and brief problem solving approaches to name a few. She has been trained in yoga, relaxation and meditation therapy with training in hypnotherapy. She uses a collaborative approach always respecting the needs of clients sensitive to their values and beliefs. Huzan has written three books on individual personal, psychological and spiritual development.
