Dr Annie Abraham is a consultant psychiatrist and fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP, 2019). She also holds Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in the United Kingdom (MRCPsych, 2002), where she began her specialist training in 1999.
With more than 25 years of experience, Dr Abraham has worked across India, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Australia in both public and private mental health services. Her background includes extensive work in inpatient, outpatient, and community psychiatry. She first practised as a junior doctor in India from 1994 to 1997 before continuing her psychiatric career abroad.
Dr Abraham has lived in India, Kuwait, the UK, USA, New Zealand, and Australia, giving her a unique multicultural perspective that informs her practice.
She is fluent in English and Malayalam, and while not fully fluent, she can also understand Hindi and Tamil. This enables her to support patients from a variety of cultural backgrounds with sensitivity and understanding.
