Fr Nicholas Pearce

Counsellor

Fr Nicholas Pearce was ordained at St Patrick's Cathedral in 2010, he has worked in numerous parishes and ministries across Melbourne. In 2020, Fr Nicholas completed his Master's in Psychology at Divine Mercy University, a Catholic graduate university of psychology and counselling in Sterling, Virginia, USA. Fr Pearce researched and wrote on the use of positive psychological interventions in the prevention and treatment of problematic pornography use. Fr Nicholas then commenced a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counselling at Divine Mercy University, completing his clinical placement with CatholicCare Victoria and graduating in 2024. Fr Pearce's areas of interest include helping clients with the intersection of faith and mental health, addressing addictive and other problematic behaviours. Fr Nicholas is a Certified Sex Adiiction Therapist-Candidate and works from a strengths-based, IFS, and ACT-informed approach. In 2025, Fr Nicholas commenced his PhD studies at the University of Notre Dame, Australia, focusing on fostering positive mental health and well-being among Catholic clergy.
