Hi, my name is Charlie. I’m a clinical psychologist, living and working in Canberra on Ngunnawal land. After many years providing psychology services in public health, private practice, problem gambling and university settings, I decided to set-up Climb Psychology in 2025.
At Climb Psychology, I try to create a relaxed and welcoming environment where you feel comfortable and understood. From experience, I believe the best results come when we work together - when you feel involved and part of the process. It takes real courage to face life's challenges, and my aim is to walk alongside you as you navigate them. From here, I want to help you reconnect with what matters personally to you and get back to doing the things that bring you joy and meaning. I enjoy working with people dealing with a range of challenges including anxiety, work-related stress, life adjustments and low mood. I am also passionate about helping individuals learn psychological skills to help handle the ups and downs of high-pressure situations—whether that’s at work, in sport, or in everyday life.
I've had the privilege of supporting people of all ages and backgrounds as they navigate life's challenges. I have a keen interest in both general anxiety challenges and performance-related anxiety having worked with emerging and retired professional athletes. I also have a background in health and rehabilitation, having spent the past five years supporting patients and families across general medical (e.g. cardiac and respiratory), oncology and intensive care wards at The Canberra Hospital. Additionally, I have supervised students on placement and guest lectured at Canberra University, helping to shape the education of future psychologists.
I’m experienced in delivering a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, but particularly like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I always aim to tailor the approach to the individual and their specific circumstances, remaining flexible and employing a collaborative and person-centred approach. In doing so, I hope to create a space to promote reflection and understanding.
When I’m not at work I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing sport and bushwalking, listening to music, watching movies and travelling.
If you think we would be a good fit or are keen for some more information feel free to reach out.
