Overview

Cherry offers a warm, compassionate and collaborative therapeutic space where clients can explore their inner world, relationships and lived experiences with curiosity and care. She feels especially drawn to the collective aspects of therapy - how the work we do for ourselves can also shape how we show up with accountability and compassion toward one another. Her approach is holistic, intersectional and relational, drawing on evidence-based modalities while remaining grounded in culturally inclusive practice. Cherry’s clinical experience spans private practice and non-government organisations across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. She also facilitates mindfulness workshops and has previously led wellbeing groups and support spaces for individuals experiencing social and general anxiety. Through these experiences, she became especially interested in - and moved by - supporting clients who are navigating the integration of their cultural identity, values and systems alongside their current lived experience. Her therapeutic work cares for both internal support - such as regulating distress and making sense of difficult or impactful life experiences - as well as relational growth, including improving communication, understanding relationship patterns, building assertiveness or learning how to express needs more clearly. Cherry believes the purpose of therapy is unique to each person. At times, it may offer grounding, support, and practical tools to navigate challenging periods; at other times, it may create space to explore identity, intergenerational and relationship patterns, or family dynamics. Her approach is attuned to what you find most impactful and meaningful, while also bringing humour and joy within the therapeutic process.
