Candice may be a good fit for you if...
You're looking for a highly experienced child and youth psychologist who genuinely enjoys connecting with young people and understands that therapy needs to look different depending on the person and their age.
For younger children, you may be concerned about anxiety, fears, big emotions, behaviour, confidence, difficulties speaking in particular situations, friendships or social and emotional development.
For young adults, you may be experiencing anxiety, stress, OCD, confidence difficulties, relationships or emotions, or navigating increasing independence.
Candice's Approach
Candice believes that one of the keys to good therapy is a good relationship with your therapist. Her approach is collaborative and draws upon systemic and attachment-based perspectives.
Where appropriate, Candice involves parents and family members. As she describes it, psychologist, young person and family can work together as a team to "build a toolbox of skills."
Her therapeutic work draws primarily upon Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based approaches.
Parenting Support
Candice is trained in Tuning in to Kids, a parenting program focused on helping parents better understand and respond to children's emotions, support emotional regulation and build emotional resilience.
