Matthew offers counselling services in the Perth CBD and Rockingham. Matthew’s natural, sensitive approach lends itself to constructing and holding spaces that allow clients to be reflective in a safe environment, carefully moving at the pace the client sets. Matthew integrates Psychodynamic, Inter-personal, Attachment and Emotionally Focussed (EFT) therapies, creating an approach which allows clients to explore their lives and relationships. Matthew has spent a portion of his counselling history working with youth at Headspace. He has also had experience working in a host of group environments, including youth programs, schools, families, projects in the disability sector and with prisoners. He is deeply motivated by his clients’ core needs, infinitely interested in their stories and deeply humbled by the personal nature of the work. Matthew draws on his unique working history and applied skills to offer a relational approach that fosters trust and safety

Mrs Anu Matara

Counsellor

Anu is a Counsellor with a Postgraduate Degree in Transactional Analysis and has a background in education and teaching. She has worked in private practice, and as a volunteer counsellor for not-for-profit organisations. She has extensive experience supporting individuals and couples from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Her approach is geared towards assisting her clients to remove barriers and obstacles that are preventing fulfillment of life goals and desires. As a counsellor Anu is insightful and kind. She values authenticity and understands that connection and relationship heals. She’s known to bring a holistic approach to her practice, and tailors each therapeutic relationship to meet the clients’ unique needs. Anu has worked with people who’ve experienced anxiety, post-traumatic stress, abuse, identity issues and religious trauma. She’s especially passionate about assisting people who have experienced burn out and emotional exhaustion. Through her sensitive approach she’s helped her clients to find balance in all areas of life. Anu draws from her theoretical understanding as well as lived experiences as a migrant to Australia. Anu uses Transactional Analysis as the main modality in counselling and integrates Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy and Mindfulness to her practice. Anu is registered with PACFA.

Mrs Jade Lim

Counsellor

Jade is an integrative, person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist. She applies a range of appropriate therapeutic approaches in her practice according to the needs of her clients. In consideration of personal context and environment, Jade draws upon Gestalt, Emotionally Focused (EFT), Attachment styles, Trauma Informed Practice and Narrative therapies. Building genuine rapport and strong alliances with her clients, Jade champions those she works with for the purpose of helping them reach their goals. Jade is particularly interested in supporting those suffering grief, loss and trauma. She has supported women from family and domestic violence and in offering mediation and pre and post-pregnancy care. As a long-term migrant in Australia, she values culture, diversity and inclusivity and has weaved her journey through the complexities of social and cultural issues in this ever-evolving landscape. A parent of two teens and a young adult, Jade is happy to share parenting insights and experiences. After a significant history in operational and client services roles, Jade turned toward her passion and niche to support people in their mental health and well-being journeys. Jade has also had many years of experience volunteering in charities and local community organisations.

mrs Sue Hooton

Counsellor

Sue is a person- centred counsellor offering after hours sessions to individuals in the Perth CBD. She has extensive experience and has for 15 years been providing support for individuals as they navigate challenging life experiences and diverse mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, grief and loss. Her maturity and life experiences also enable insightful wisdom and knowledge into complex relational challenges in different seasons of life. Sue would describe her style of therapy as integrative. She incorporates various modalities of counselling into her practice such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Counselling and Solution Focused Therapy with a Strength-Based Approach. Sue believes it is important to establish an environment where clients feel supported and respected for their individuality and uniqueness. Her empathic and caring nature provides a warm environment where clients feel comfortable to share their struggles and personal concerns. As a therapist Sue values the importance of helping clients make the connection between their own 'inner' experience and their 'outer' environment- in the healing and restoration of past hurts and trauma. She has a passion for holistic healing integrating the body, mind and spirit in the journey of discovering emotional and psychological wellbeing.
