About Elizabeth Member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS) Fellow of the APS College of Counselling Psychologists (FCCOUNP) Member of the Association of Counselling Psychologists (MACP) Liz provides counselling and psychotherapy to adolescents, adults, couples, families, culturally diverse and LGBTQIA+ clients. She has experience working across the lifespan within Government departments (Department of Corrective Services WA, Department of Health WA), not for profit community agencies, and university settings. Liz has extensive knowledge and experience in working with clients impacted by complex trauma, particularly from life events such as sexual abuse and ongoing violence. She also provides assessment, formulation, diagnosis, and treatment for a range of other psychological problems and life issues including adjustment difficulties, depression, anxiety, panic, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, phobias, addiction and dependence, personality disorders and gender/sexuality. Through a trauma-informed, client-centred and strengths based approach, Liz draws on Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing, Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Existential Therapy, Resource Therapy, Attachment Theory and other evidence-based model depending on the unique needs of the client. Liz’s approach is collaborative and places primary focus on the therapeutic relationship and building a safe, private and non-judgmental space for clients. This allows clients to explore their difficulties at their pace, gain insight, establish positive coping strategies, process and heal from past traumas, all resulting in enhanced wellbeing. Liz accepts referrals from individuals, GPs, psychiatrists, pediatricians, and other allied health professionals.
