Avan is a registered, consulting psychologist and partner at Kingsway Counselling with more than 20 years experience. Avan has worked in a variety of settings including Education (Primary, Secondary and Special Schools), Australian Red Cross and several community agencies.He is also a teacher at Nelson Park School where he works with students who have an intellectual disability and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Avan has extensive experience working with children, adolescents and adults dealing with a wide range of issues and concerns. He adopts a holistic approach using a range of proven therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, to assist the client to overcome or better manage symptoms of distress and build on a person’s existing strengths to enable them to take control of their lives. Avan is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society. He is also trained in Critical Incident Debriefing, Mediation and Hypnosis. He is a registered provider for Medicare, Private Health Insurers, TAC and WorkCover.
