Overview

Dr Amber Kelly is a registered and endorsed Clinical Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with over 15 years’ experience working with children, adolescents, young adults and families across public and private sectors. She has worked in Independent and Catholic Education schools, within hospital settings (child and adolescent mental health services), in private practice and government organizations. Registered with Medicare to provide services under Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative. Amber works across all age groups from infancy to young adulthood (0-25 years) and highly trained in case formulation and evidence-based therapies. Amber is passionate about improving the mental health of children and adolescents using a non-judgemental, warm, and engaging interpersonal style and believes in early intervention and prevention to assist young people to lead happy, fulfilled and flourishing lives. Amber's therapeutic approach encompasses Cognitive behavioural therapy, Acceptance and commitment therapy, play therapy and family-based intervention. Amber strongly believes in collaborative patient care and values working closely with parents and external practitioners (i.e. GPs, speech pathologists, OT’s, etc.) and schools. Amber works with a range of mental health presentations including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, body image, school and life transitions, adjustment difficulties, identity and sexuality, friendship and family relationship concerns, and behavioural issues.
