Qualifications Dr Ravi Sohal studied Medicine at the University of Cambridge and Imperial College School of Medicine. He graduated in 2000 with Triple Distinctions. He trained in Psychiatry and became a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in Cambridge in 2005 and completed psychiatric specialist training in West London in 2009. in 2013, he moved to Auckland, New Zealand where he was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in 2014. Working Experience Dr Ravi Sohal has over twenty years of experience working in psychiatry managing severe and complex mental health disorders. This includes working in a variety of settings in UK, NZ and more recently in Australia in public and private hospitals, community based clinics and forensic settings. Since 2014, he has been working as a Senior Staff Specialist in Psychiatry at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital. His roles have included: Supervisor for Mental Health Interns, Senior Clinical Lecturer for the Faculty of Medicine, University of Queensland and Accredited Supervisor for Psychiatry Registrars. He has developed a special interest in Adult ADHD since 2009 and has gained experience in the assessment, diagnosis and management of Adult ADHD whilst initially working as a Prison Psychiatrist and in all subsequent positions as the lead psychiatrist managing this condition. He has attended training with UK Adult ADHD Network and the Institute of Psychiatry at the Maudsley Hospital, London. He has gained extensive experience in managing complex cases with significant comorbidities including other neurodevelopmental disorders, mood, anxiety, PTSD and personality disorders.

Dr Sebastian Alvarez Grandi has had a comprehensive career managing severe and complex psychiatry cases for over 20 years across four countries. Over this period, he has acquired extensive experience in rehabilitation psychiatry, dual diagnosis, forensic psychiatry, and community mental health services. His broad experience range working as a psychiatrist has helped him obtain a deep understanding of complex mental health disorders in adults, particularly those with significant comorbidities. He is particularly engaged with dual diagnosis, rehabilitation psychiatry, transcultural psychiatry, and evidence-based psychotherapies, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), for which he is an accredited therapist. He has worked as a psychiatrist in Argentina, Spain, New Zealand, and now Australia, with experience in public and private hospitals, community-based clinics, rehabilitation centres, and forensic settings. His international career has provided him with extensive experience in transcultural psychiatry, working with diverse communities across multiple cultures in Spain, New Zealand, and Australia. Dr Alvarez Grandi has worked at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane, since October 2025 as a Consultant Psychiatrist with Metro South Adult Mental Health Services. He previously served as Lead Clinician at Buchanan Rehabilitation Centre in Auckland and has held academic appointments as an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Auckland and University of Otago. He holds a Master of Science and a PhD in Neuroscience from Barcelona University and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals. As a highly experienced psychiatrist and Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, Dr Alvarez Grandi utilises his broad international psychiatry experience to support and assist his patients towards recovery and a better quality of life. He is proficient in Spanish, English, and Catalan, with basic Portuguese and Italian.
