Alana completed her Bachelor of Speech Pathology at Australian Catholic University. She has had experience across school, clinic, community and hospital settings, in both paediatric and adult contexts. She has worked with clients with speech, language, dysphagia and cognitive communication needs.
Alana has volunteered within primary school classrooms as a teacher’s aide, to support students with extra classroom needs in achieving their academic goals. She is passionate about creating a space for clients and families within sessions, where they feel safe to be themselves and receive effective speech pathology support at the same time.
Alana’s commitment to learning and personal growth has been recognised through multiple faculty commendations for outstanding academic results during her time studying at Australian Catholic University. She has also completed professional development in areas of interest to her, including a course in neuroaffirmative care for clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder and an Auslan basics course.
Outside of the clinic, Alana enjoys hiking, reading, and trying out new restaurants with her friends and family. She is excited to contribute to the Sounds Right Speech Pathology team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of her clients and their families.
