Sonja Baram is a narrative therapist and counsellor with 20 years + experience in community Adult and Family Relationship counselling. Sessions can be focussed on a particular issue to explore from a Narrative Invitational and Trauma Informed approach. Or may be long termed focused on respectful relationships and understanding identity or the self in relation to one's own preferences for living and others. She has a strong interest in Relationship & Couple work, particularly informed by understandings of the politics of power, relationships and social culture - when the conversations include reflections on the bigger picture of the contexts of people's lives a kind of pragmatic change begins to unfold. Sonja also works with folk from a Trauma & Gendered Informed Approach to people affected by Childhood Sexual Abuse, Sexual Trauma and Domestic Violence, looking at the effects of power and objectification on both Men & Women. And takes a Family Therapy & Open Dialogue approach to Mental Health presentations. Always with foundations in rigorous Narrative and Invitational Therapies that have developmental origins in Adelaide and now have international reach and influence.
