Overview

Yasmeen is a Counsellor with experience providing mental health services to children (3+yrs), adolescents and adults. She is a compassionate, client-centred and evidence-based clinician skilled in providing a range of therapeutic interventions including Emotion-focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Play (including AutPlay) and Creative Therapies. Yasmeen works and connects with a variety of clients, including those referred through NDIS. Yasmeen has a Masters of Counselling and is a member of PACFA (Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia). Having worked as a Counsellor in both private practice and education settings (including early intervention for ASD), Yasmeen has valuable experience working with clients with a wide range of presenting issues. She also continues to develop and share her skills by teaching students in Masters and Bachelor programs of Counselling and Community Services. Though she has a broad range of experience and is a skilled therapist, Yasmeen also has particular interest and experience when working with clients experiencing grief and loss (including complex grief), emotion regulation, anxiety and depression, trauma, and child-centred family separation and divorce counselling. Yasmeen’s genuine warmth and sense of humour help her to connect quickly and easily with her clients. Her ability to integrate different evidence-based therapies and tailor her counselling approach will mean that your individual needs are met in a supportive and caring therapeutic relationship.
