Wendy Lim Counsellor

Connections Counselling Perth, South Perth 2 Lawler Street, South Perth, Western Australia, 6151

Overview

“Be patient with yourself. Self-growth is tender; it’s holy ground. There’s no greater investment.” – Stephen Covey. Having journeyed through her own experiences of harm and trauma, Wendy has learned the crucial value of safety and respect within the therapeutic relationship. She recognises the courage of her clients in choosing to face their pain, and honours them with dignity and a sense of empowerment within the sacred places they want to explore. The path is not always easy to navigate, but Wendy is committed to walking alongside her clients with gentleness, patience, and compassion. Wendy has a Bachelor of Applied Social Science in Counselling, a Masters of Counselling Practice, and a Certificate in Trauma Stress Studies. She is a member of the Australian Counselling Association. She has helped clients work through issues of complex grief, loss, trauma, spiritual abuse, religious trauma, and domestic violence. She is holistic in her approach and uses an eclectic range of therapeutic practices, including Narrative, Sand Tray, Psychodynamic, and Polyvagal techniques. Born in Malaysia, grown up in Australia, and being married to a German man for the last 14 years has shaped Wendy to be aware and sensitive to the diversity of cultures and backgrounds in society.
