Overview

General Psychology – working Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday with children and adults experiencing: Toby is a generally registered psychologist who works with children, adolescents, and adults. He holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Diploma in Education, Graduate Diploma of Psychology and a Master of Psychological Practice. Before becoming a psychologist, Toby spent over 20 years in education as a classroom teacher, Assistant Principal, and Principal. This background provides him with a strong understanding of child development, learning, family systems, and the challenges that individuals and families face across different stages of life. Toby has experience supporting clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, grief, and a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties. He also has experience working with First Nations communities and conducting comprehensive psychological assessments, including cognitive, behavioural, emotional, and learning assessments. Toby enjoys working with people across the lifespan and values helping clients develop practical skills to navigate life's challenges, build resilience, and move towards a life that is meaningful to them. Toby's approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. He believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is central to meaningful change and tailors therapy to each person's individual strengths, goals, and circumstances. His work is informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), integrating evidence-based approaches to best meet each client's needs.
