Thomas is a Registered Psychologist currently completing an area of endorsement program in Clinical Psychology. Thomas completed his Bachelor of Psychology (Hons1) in 2015. Thomas is currently completing a combined Master of Clinical Psychology and PhD with the University of New England which he is due to be completed by the end of 2021. Thomas’ PhD investigates schema therapy and interpersonal relationship problems.
Thomas is scientifically oriented in his approach to psychological assessment and treatment, using evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills training and family-based interventions. He believes that positive outcomes in therapy are built on a foundation of a strong, honest and collaborative relationship between clients, families and their therapist.
Thomas has experience working as a university counsellor, in child protection and private practice. Thomas is also a published researcher and has assisted with teaching a range of undergraduate and postgraduate psychology units.
Thomas is an associate Member of the Australian Psychology Society and is part of the college of clinical psychologists.
