Overview

Talia is a warm, relatable, and compassionate clinician whose approach to therapy is holistic and formulated to suit the needs of each individual client. She works collaboratively with clients to understand the context of their concerns, and supports them in the development of personal insight and practical solutions for an improved quality of life. Talia’s empathetic and intuitive nature fosters a therapeutic environment in which clients feel safe, heard, and empowered to make change. Presenting Problems Talia offers appointments to clients across the lifespan, however has strengths working with adolescents, young adults, and families. She supports clients with a range of concerns, particularly: Emotion regulation issues Interpersonal difficulties (social, romantic, family) Anxiety and related disorders (including panic disorder and social phobia) Depression Self-esteem issues Stress management Behaviour management Parenting concerns Alcohol and drug addiction Treatment approaches Talia utilises various evidence-based treatment modalities in her practice. She draws upon her academic and professional training, as well as up-to-date research to establish the treatment method that would best suit the client’s needs and preferences. Talia has been trained in: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Mindfulness-based cognitive therapies Schema Therapy Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Family Systems and Attachment-based therapies Qualifications and experience B.A (Psych), GDip Psych Sci, MPsych (Clin) Member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association AHPRA Registration No. PSY0002174183 Talia completed a Masters of Clinical Psychology, receiving the ‘Dux’ award for the highest achieved grade in the Masters cohort. Talia has experience working with inpatients and outpatients in a private mental health hospital, providing both group and individual therapy to clients with mood, personality, and substance use disorders. She has clinical experience working in public community health settings with children and their families, and has worked as an Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) therapist, supporting children with ASD. Outside of the clinic, Talia is an academic coach to university students studying Psychology and Counselling, and is also a disability support worker.
