Overview
Shane is an Intern Psychologist commencing his placement at The READ Clinic in April, after recently completing his Graduate Diploma of Psychology (Advanced) at Monash University. Shane completed a Bachelor of Behavioural Studies (Psychology) at Swinburne University of Technology in 2018. While completing his studies, Shane worked as a disability support worker, mainly with child and adolescent NDIS participants, where he implemented a wide range of interventions for a variety of client presentations. Shane has a special interest in behavioural issues and complex mental health needs. Shane understands the importance of a trusting, open, and safe client-therapist relationship as well as the importance of consistency for achieving goals. Therefore, Shane focuses on ensuring the client, family, educators, and other allied health practitioners are employing consistent strategies to improve overall psychological well-being, achieve client goals and improve the individual’s biological (sleep, diet, exercise) function. Shane's areas of interest include Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, ASD, Behavioural Problems, Self-Esteem and Self-Development, Sleep Problems and Burnout.
