I am Dr Alea Lösch, a Clinical Psychologist with experience in evidence-based and clinically proven therapies for a range of mental health issues for people of all ages. I completed my studies and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Western Australia. I have an Honours Degree in Psychology, a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology. I have also completed several units of a Graduate Diploma of Divinity. I ongoingly have a passion for advancing my knowledge and clinical skills. I maintain a wide range of professional and personal development. I am a member of the Australian Psychological Society College of Clinical Psychologists (MAPS), as well as being a member of the Australian Psychological Society.
I am very passionate about working with people. I have always sought out work experiences that have challenged my growth as a clinician. I have had experience working in areas such as the Department for Child Protective Services and Family Support, the Trauma Unit at Royal Perth Hospital, the Counselling Service at the University of Western Australia, and in the past few years I have been working in private practice. I have worked with individual clients, couples and have run a range of therapy groups. I have extensive experience in assessment, as well as interventions. My work experience has allowed me to interact with people from all walks of life – people of all ages, diverse cultural backgrounds and with a range of presenting issues.
I utilise a variety of evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Mindfulness Therapy, Schema Therapy and more. I also recently completed my EMDR (Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing) training for adults and children.
