Explanation of Services
Thank you for making an appointment with Rachel Bulyk. Please read through this information thoroughly before your appointment and do not hesitate to ask if you require additional information or explanation.

Please note that Rachel B Psychology is not a crisis service. Communication or requests will only be responded to within Rachel B Psychology’s working days and hours. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact your GP or the mental health access line on 1800 011 511, or 000.

Appointments

Appointments are usually scheduled for fifty minutes of face-to-face therapy.

Appointments must be made in advance by telephone, email or at our practice. You will receive an SMS reminder for your booked appointment approximately two days before your appointment. Please let us know that you have received the message by confirming your appointment. If you cannot make your appointment, please call or message and cancel, otherwise you will be charged a missed appointment fee.

Cancellation Policy

Services at this practice are in high demand and there are a significant list of families waiting for appointments. If you cannot attend your scheduled appointment, please let us know within 24 hours so that your appointment time can be filled by someone on the waitlist.

As recommended by APS and NDIS, failure to give at least 24 hours’ business day notice will incur a missed appointment charge of 100% of the scheduled fee. Failure to attend a scheduled appointment without notice will also incur a missed appointment charge of 100% of the scheduled fee. Please note that there is no rebate applicable for cancellation fees.

When making a booking, you will be required to enter your credit card details and these are stored to process cancellation fees if applicable. All credit card details are transferred, stored then encrypted in our booking system. These details are stored with highest security.

If you do not attend the appointment within the first 20 minutes from the scheduled start time, the appointment will be forfeited and the full fee will be charged. Clients who cancel three or more consecutive appointments may be placed on a waiting list with all future appointments terminated.

Telehealth

When an appointment can not be attended face to face, telehealth options are readily available and please advise if you require a phone or video consultation. All measures are taken to maintain confidentiality and please ensure you are located in a quiet private space. Session length and cost remain the same as face to face and fees may be processed through stored credit card details or via direct deposit.

Safety

We strive to promote a safe environment for our clients. We are committed to providing an environment free from violence, threats of violence, harassment, intimidation, and other disruptive behaviour. If you believe that you are not safe at this practice, please notify your therapist or any other staff member immediately. If you behave in an inappropriate manner, therapy will be terminated immediately and, if appropriate, legal action will be instigated.

Please do not attend your appointment face to face if you are unwell to ensure the safety of clients and employees at the office. Telehealth options are readily available, otherwise you may need to reschedule your appointment given appropriate notice.

Confidentiality

All information is confidential unless disclosure is required for legal reasons such as a subpoena or if you have provided written approval to share information. If you require information to be released to outside agencies such as schools or community health you will need to sign a separate ‘consent to release information’ form.

Confidentiality is not absolute. If there is an immediate risk that you may hurt yourself, or others, we are legally obliged to contact appropriate people or services to ensure your safety and the safety of those around you. This also applies if you disclose anything of a criminal nature or information requiring a mandatory report.

Please note that Rachel B Psychology is unable to provide medico-legal reports or have sessions used to assess parental living arrangements.

We ask that clients provide the contact details of a family member or friend for contact during an emergency.
