I am an experienced senior mental health clinician who combines my nursing skills, health planning, counselling, education, yoga instruction, Vedic chanting and creative therapies to improve overall health outcomes.
I believe that health and wellbeing are lifestyle choices that every person can make, provided they have the knowledge, guidance and opportunity to fully embody the change they seek.
Understanding that the health of mind-body-spirit is influenced by experiences from across the lifespan and is interconnected to the lifestyle a person chooses to live is the essence of how I work with people wanting change. Using a humanistic person-centred approach, I walk alongside each individual in their journey to well-being or recovery.
All aspects of the person are seen as equally important in this journey: early childhood experiences, culture, community, language, nutrition, sleep, physical movement, family, social engagement, spirituality, physical health, mental health, emotional health, environment, education and play.
Through my experience of working with people of different ages and cultures, I believe that overall health and relationships can be improved once the above connections are made.
