Nicole Sturla Psychologist

In addition to her undergraduate Psychology qualification Nicole has an MSc (Psychology), a BA (Hons) Social Work (Residential Childcare), Family Therapy -The Scottish Institute of Human Relations. Nicole is also a qualified EMDR practitioner and trained in the Circle of Security attachment based parenting intervention. Nicole has a lot of experience working with young people who experience difficulties as a result of their family circumstances such as; those resulting from exposure to trauma, problematic attachment, neglect, abuse, etc. Nicole has experience in working with parents and extended families who do not always function at their best or in the interests of their child in both a therapeutic and compulsory setting. Nicole specialises in a number of therapeutic approaches, including: Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR); Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT); and the use of Mindfulness. Nicole’s areas of interest are: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Anxiety and related disorders ADHD Behavioural Disorders
