Clinical Psychologist - Adults
With over 20 years of experience, Victoria has worked extensively in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Victoria predominantly works from a Cognitive and Behavioural framework. Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) is a structured, goal-oriented psychotherapy that focuses on changing negative thinking and behaviour patterns to improve mental health. CBT is usually conducted over 6 to 20 sessions, adaptable to individual needs, and is a highly effective form of therapy for a wide range of mental health issues.
Additionally, Victoria is trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, a technique designed specifically for trauma and PTSD. EMDR involves using different stimulation methods, such as the use of specific eye movements, sound and touch. These techniques are intended to help you work through memories that may feel "stuck" or difficult to manage. Throughout this process, the Victoria assists you in effectively reprocessing these memories. The ultimate goal is to ease the emotional distress linked to those memories, providing a way forward for healing and emotional well-being.
