Nereda is a Registered Psychologist who commenced working at The READ Clinic in 2020.
Nereda began her professional career as a Visual Arts teacher and subsequently Head Teacher in public education. In 2011 she began retraining to become a psychologist, and graduated from the University of New England in 2018 with a Masters of Professional Psychology after first completing a Graduate Diploma in Psychology and Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours). Nereda has worked as a School Psychologist for the Department of Education NSW since the beginning of 2019. In addition, Nereda has completed the Phoenix Australia Trauma-focussed therapy for children course. Nereda is able to conduct cognitive, behavioural and emotional assessments.
She works with children experiencing family difficulties, exposure to trauma, anxiety, depression, suicidality, learning difficulties, and behavioural challenges. She is able to assist families towards improved relationships and, learning, behavioural and emotional support of their children. Nereda also uses a client-centred approach putting emphasis on developing a strong therapeutic relationship that utilizes a clients’ strengths and goals to build skills and improved function through evidence-based interventions.
Nereda specializes in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and the use of Mindfulness.
