Dan is a knowledgeable psychotherapist, practicing mental health coach and meditation teacher, with an academic background in psychology and experience working in the consumer mental health space. He holds expertise in mindfulness and wellbeing and utilises a range of techniques including mindfulness-based stress reduction, motivational interviewing, explorative inquiry and values-based work.
Dan offers a humanistic, person centred approach. He facilitates a collaborative relationship with clients for them to explore and build a pathway towards greater meaning and fulfilment in their lives. He has experienced and worked through his own life challenges, and therefore relates to the importance of compassion, empathy and unconditional positive regard.
Dan specialises in working with busy, stressed out people, by helping them find a renewed sense of balance in their lives. He also specialises in working with people who have experienced burnout, failure, lost motivation and hope, to help them build a renewed sense of energy, hope, purpose and meaning. He believes that through cultivating qualities of self-compassion, curiosity and acceptance, we allow ourselves the opportunity to reflect and create meaning from our experiences and therefore choose a fulfilling direction into the future.
Dan sees clients privately and his fee is $164 for a standard 50 minute session and $248 for a 50 minute couples counselling session.
