Tess is a registered psychologist with general registration and has over 13 years’ experience working with individuals affected by mental health disorders, cognitive impairment and dementia. Tess has worked in acute /hospital settings as well as in the community, aged care facilities, private practice and telehealth. Tess has a special interest working with adults and has extensive experience working with older adults aged 65years + Tess utilises a person centred approach that is customised based on the client’s needs. Tess may implement a variety of evidenced based approaches including but not limited to: cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive processing therapy, interpersonal therapy, mindfulness/compassion/acceptance and commitment therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, solution focused counselling, dialectical behaviour therapy, eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing and clinical hypnosis. Areas of interest include positive ageing, the healing of trauma and PTSD, anxiety and mood disorders, grief and loss, self-esteem, adjustment disorders, the effect of chronic pain/medical conditions on mental health and multicultural and indigenous psychology.
