Sumeet has worked in psychiatry for over 10 years in a variety of different roles, including leadership roles in the public and private sector. He is currently working at St Vincent’s Hospital and in private practice. Sumeet is a general adult psychiatrist with a skill set and interest in a number of areas within psychiatry and is generally happy to see people with a range of issues. His philosophy is to use an empathy based approach to patients with a focus on holistic care, encompassing the bio psychosocial, recovery-based model of care.

I work with diverse populations, including those with complex mental health issues, suicidal ideation and self-harm, vulnerable youth, family violence, trauma, grief and loss, substance misuse, homelessness, Aboriginal/Torres Strait-Islander communities, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and refugees. Julie a Registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Julie has experience working in both the Public and Private sectors, within the Hospital setting, as well as in the Community. Julie has experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Eating Disorders, Borderline Personality Disorders (BPD), Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Depression, Anxiety and Emotional Dysregulation. Julie believes in a Person-Centred collaborative approach to wellbeing, focusing on building rapport with honesty, integrity, empathy, patience and respect. Julie has also worked as a Registered Nurse for the past 30 years, and has a vast array of health and wellbeing experience. Julie uses a number of diverse therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Self-Compassion and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
