Cathie Hutchinson Social Worker

I am an accredited Mental Health Social Worker and Medicare provider. I am also registered with WorkSafe Victoria to provide counselling. I am committed to ongoing continuing professional development. I have worked with families with complex needs and have developed insight into a range of issues and challenges people face. Underpinning my practice working with adults and young people is the ability to develop warm non-judgemental and trusting relationships. This is supported by an holistic and strengths based approach. In discussion with clients, I use various counselling approaches including relaxation and mindfulness practices and skill development to assist people to achieve their potential. Through careful listening, I help people to recognise their strengths and gain self-knowledge and understanding of the challenges they face. I also help clients identify feelings, unhelpful ways of thinking and discover alternative ways of viewing situations. I am trauma informed.
