Overview

Amy (she/her) is a compassionate and LGBTQIAP+ friendly clinician who works with clients aged 18+. She received her full clinical training (Bachelor of Arts with Major in Psychology; Honours in Psychology; and Master of Clinical Psychology) from the University of Melbourne. Amy tends to utilise skills and techniques from various treatment modalities, including Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT). Amy prioritises the creation of a non-judgmental, safe space from the moment one enters the therapy room. Amy loves being a psychologist due to its seamless blend of both science and art. Amy’s commitment to her clients is that she stays informed on the science of psychology through ongoing professional development and learning; an aspect of her role that she thoroughly enjoys. Amy also places great importance on the art of psychology; she understands that therapy is not a ‘one size fits all’ approach and requires the art of flexibility. Through providing a collaborative, non-judgemental, and warm atmosphere, Amy aims to ensure that each person’s therapy will suit their own personality, individual goals, and circumstances in order to help provide them with the best possible outcomes.
