Amanda has received training in South Africa, Switzerland and Australia. Her diverse career path has led to a great variety over 15 years’ experience in both the education and private sector. For the past 5 years she has worked in co-educational schools both within the local and international community.
The therapeutic process she uses is a joint journey between you and her. For adolescents, young adults and adults, Amanda’s collaborative approach means the relationship is similar to that of pilot and co-pilot. You decide on what you would like to achieve in the sessions and Amanda support’s you in realising your goals.
For children and parents, her role is to help you move in the direction that will enable your child to have healthy relationships and to function well at school.
Amanda works from a strengths based approach using your own personal strengths, principles and values to support you to live your life with purpose, openness, vitality and fun!
For this purpose, Amanda combines the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); Positive Psychology; Solution Focused Therapy; and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
