This is a phone conversation, where will take a snapshot of where you are, look at where you want to be, and brainstorm some ideas of how to get there. This alone can help kickstart your healing, because you have taken the first steps towards change. You may feel that you are empowered to go on alone from here, or you might want to go further working with me.
After working with your practice for a few weeks, or if your circumstances have changed, you will probably want to come back so that we can review your practice and make any adjustments necessary so that you can continue to move forward. You will most likely gain the most benefits from checking in regularly, for example once every month to 6 weeks. Packages and payment plans are available to make this more affordable for you and many health funds contribute towards nutrition consultations.
I see all my clients for a minimum of two sessions: the initial consultation and a follow-up. This allows me to get to know you really well, consider your case thoroughly, do any necessary further research and map out a nourishing daily practice that you can fit into your life with ease. Before you come in, I ask you to fill in a health questionnaire and diet diary, giving us more time to dive deep during our time together. The initial consultation is an in-depth investigation of your life, looking beyond symptoms to the root causes of pain and suffering. We go through your history and discuss your current symptoms. I will also conduct a physical assessment of your posture and movement. We work together to discover what habits are not serving you well and to find new ones that will help you become healthier, happier and more fulfilled. I will help you to set intentions and goals that are realistic for you. If you need to have any tests to help us to clarify your current state of health, we can arrange this. In your follow-up appointment, we review test results, discuss any questions you have, and I teach you your daily practice. This practice will be unique to you. It could include new diet and lifestyle habits, supplements, daily movement or an energetic practice such as meditation, chanting or breathwork. This is a collaborative process, and you will be encouraged to give feedback so that we can design your practice to be perfect for you, your needs and your abilities.
